Apartments Vlasska

Charming, romantic, ancient, beautiful are a few of the adjectives people use when describing Mala Strana, one of the most ancient quarters in Prague. The streets in this part of town are smaller and narrower than elsewhere in the city and retain the charm and atmosphere of a city in the 16th, 17th or 18th centuries. The street Vlasska (Vlach is an old Czech word for Italian) is named after the Italians, who used to live there between the 16th and 18th century.

There is no finer quarter for beautiful buildings, wonderful restaurants and close access to most of the main tourist attractions the city offers. Vlasska no. 8 is a 16th century building in the heart of Mala Strana, a hop away from St. Nicholas' Cathedral, a skip to the Charles Bridge and a jump up the hill to Prague's picturesque castle. And if you need to get quickly to Wenceslas Square, the commercial center of Prague, simply climb aboard a tram (nearest tram stop is Malostranske namesti, on the 22 and 23 tram lines) and you'll be there in less than ten minutes.

As you walk through the front door of Vlasska 8, which has been recently renovated, right, you'll be surprised to find a little courtyard that shuts out all of the noise from the nearby street. Balconies jut into the courtyard from three flats (two ours included) which makes a pleasant place to spend the morning having breakfast or the evening sipping a bottle of wine.

Apartment II

Located on the ground floor, this flat offers easy accommodation for folks who may have trouble getting up stairs. The front door is accessed through a small cobbled courtyard in the interior of the building, no stairs to climb, just one step from the street into the hallway and another step into the courtyard.

The flat is furnished with period antique furniture, two single beds in the bedroom and a magnificent closet to hang your clothes in. There is a unique mirror and stool in the living room along with a couple of chairs to read in if you need to while away some time. And there's a pullout couch if more than two want to sleep here.

The kitchen is fully functional featuring all the facilities expected in a beautiful flat. There is a large 'fridge, a stove, microwave, stereo, cutlery and dishes. So, if you decide to cook instead of hitting one of the neighborhood restaurants, it's no problem.

Despite being in an old house, this is a totally renovated flat complete with a modern bath and kitchen. Relaxing after a day's touring, or cooking up something light is simple. We've installed a long bathtub for soaking sore feet and aching bodies in. There's also a real nice kitchen, complete with microwave, should you choose to stay at home after your long bath.

The bedroom has two single beds which can be pushed together or pulled apart depending on your preference. There's a great rug for laying around on in the living room and a comfortable couch that pulls out to form a double bed should another person or two wish to stay. A couple of "comfy chairs" for lounging in or for enjoying a drink of wine or Becherovka after a day out round out the selection of lovely antiques in the flat.

Apartment III

Apartment V

This is the fifth apartment we are now able to offer in the Vlasska 8 building. Moving a floor up from apartments I and IV, this flat is a lovely, bright one-bedroom. There is a balcony looking out into the small courtyard and in warm weather it's a great place to sit and enjoy breakfast. Another ideal flat for two, but should three or four wish to stay, there's a pullout couch.

The bathroom is airy and light and there is plenty of water pressure for either a bath or standing shower.

Apartment VI

A lovely two-bedroom apartment on the second floor of Vlasska 8, it features two bathrooms, two bedrooms, a full kitchen, a living room and plenty of closet space to hang your hat and clothes in.

A lovely two-bedroom apartment on the second floor of Vlasska 8, it features two bathrooms, two bedrooms, a full kitchen, a living room and plenty of closet space to hang your hat and clothes in.

This flat has two big bedrooms, one with a queen-sized bed and one with two single beds. There's also a pullout couch in the separate living room so six people can really sleep well here. There is one toilet but two bathrooms, each with a shower and one with a bathtub so washing away Prague's dust after a day of touring is a joy. A big and fully functional kitchen makes it easy to whip up a full meal for you and your friends after you've tried all the neighborhood restaurants.

In the flat you'll find a mixture of modern and antique furniture to make your stay as comfortable as possible. And the ceiling beams, originally painted in the 16th century, give this flat a special atmosphere that you can only find in Mala Strana.

Apartment VII

This two-room apartment is located on the second floor of Vlasska 7, in the house "At The White Lion", across the street from our flats at Vlasska 8. balcony Like many of the old houses in Mala Strana this flat features a charming door onto the street and a wonderful little balcony which looks into the interior courtyard. Being a corner flat, it gets the sun directly into the bedroom from Vlasska Street.

We have put two antique single beds with matching night tables in the bedroom along with a lovely dresser and a beautiful mirror. The hardwood floors reflect the sun, lighting up the place with a golden glow during the day. If it should become too hot, however (a rarity in Prague) you can close the drapes and let the thick, 16th-century walls do the rest.

In the kitchen we have put in an ancient table and two antique chairs. Should you get tired of dining at one of Prague's endless restaurants and want to spend a quiet night in, the kitchen is perfect for whipping up a plate of pasta.

There's also a modern bathroom with a shower and plenty of hot water. Not the biggest apartment on the block, this space is cozy and romantic making you feel at home while on vacation in the Golden City.
